Beyond the Final Page: The Raw Reality of Becoming an Indie Author

  There is a specific kind of electricity that comes with starting something new. It’s that cocktail of adrenaline, caffeine, and pure ambition that keeps you up at 2:00 AM. For a long time, my "something new" was writing a book. I thought that finishing the manuscript and hitting that "publish" button would be the grand finale—the moment I could finally sit back and watch the magic happen. I couldn’t have been more wrong. As I’ve quickly learned, publishing a book isn't the finish line; it’s the starting gun. It’s been a steep learning curve. Case in point: I spent hours perfecting my book cover, feeling like the next Da Vinci, only to have Amazon reject it because my formatting was essentially the digital equivalent of trying to fit a square peg in a circular hole. Apparently, "looks good to me" is not an official measurement recognized by KDP. 😅 The Shift from Writer to "Authorpreneur" When you go indie, you aren't just a storyteller...
